BIRTH PREPARATION - "My doctor had mentioned several times that I should prepare myself for a long labour, because this was typical for a first time Mum. So after some research I chose you and acupuncture to help with this quest. After four sessions with you in the last weeks of my pregnancy, and five days before her due date, my daughter decided to make her way into the world. My waters broke at 8 p.m. on a Friday evening and at 8.30 p.m. my first contraction started. By midnight I was in full swing, experiencing overwhelming contractions. I had the words of my midwife in my head "when you can't bear the pain any longer, come into hospital". At 3.15 a.m. I was ready for some pain relief, so my Husband and I rushed to the hospital. When examined the midwife declared she could see our daughter's head and it was now up to me to push. At 5.50 a.m. our daughter was born - no pain relief required!? I remember you saying that you aim for a labour of between 8 - 12 hours and the entire process was just under 10 hours. I couldn't have asked for a better labour, and it was a huge relief not to have undergone a 24 hour marathon. It was the best start to my new life with my baby daughter.
